The Rule of 5

Alot of people e-mail me and ask "how can I be successful online?"
For me it has been a huge amount of persistance and I use everyday the Rule of 5, not only in my business but in my personal life also.

FIVE SPECIFIC THINGS THAT MOVE YOU TOWARD YOUR GOAL

It is something I read a few years back and struck a chord and is now ingrained in me as habit.
This wonderful teacher told me,"If you would go every day to a very large tree and take five swings at it with a very sharp ax, eventually, no matter how large the tree, it would have to come down."

How very simple and how very true! From that I discovered the rule of 5. This simply means that every day, I do five specific things that will move my goal toward completion.

With the goal of getting into internet marketing and changing my lifestyle, it mean doing five things to promote my business every day from doing 1000 drop cads ,sending out an e-mail, doing a new video blog, doing a mail shot, sending out a free report, editing a capture page, writing a new capture page, etc

It was a lot of effort-a minimum of five things a day, every day, day in and day out- for 2 years.

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out."

LOOK WHAT A SUSTAINED EFFORT CAN DO

Was it worth it? Yes! Did it happen overnight? NO! I didn't make a success staright away, but it was sustaine effort of the Rule of 5 for 2 years that led to the success- one action at a time, one e-mail at a time one reader at a time.

In the book Chicken soup for the soul (Great book by the way) ,Jaroldeen Edwards describes the dayher daughter Carollyn took her to Lake Arrowhead to see a wonder of nature- fields and fileds of daffodils that extend for as far as the eye can see.

From the top of the mountains, slopping down for many acres across folds and valleys, between the trees and bushes, following the terrain, there are rivers of daffodil's in radient bloom- a literal carpet of every hue of color yellow, from the pallest Ivory to the deepest lemon to the most vivd salmon-orange.

There appear to be over a million daffodil bulbs planted in this beautiful natural scene. It takes your breath away.

As they hiked into the centre of this magical place, they eventually stumbled on a sign that read: " One Woman-Two Hands, Two Feet and Very Little Brain." The second was " One at a Time." The third: " Started in 1958 ."

One woman had forever changed the world over a 40-year period one buld at a time. What might you accomplish iy you were to do a little bit- five things- every day for the next 40 years toward the accomplishment of your goal.

If you wrote 5 pages a day, that would be 73,000 pages of text- the equivalent of 243 books of 300 pages each. If you saved £5 a day, that would be £73'000, enough for four round-the-world trips! If you invested £5 a day, with compound interest at only 6% a year, at the end of 40 years, you'd have amassed a small fortune of around £305,000.

THE RULE OF 5. PRETTY POWERFUL LITTLE PRINCIPLE, WOULDN'T YOU AGREE ?
